What is green tire?

Green tire (green tyre) is the shaped tire before the curing press — raw, still-plastic, unvulcanized rubber. In a tire factory it becomes scrap as curing rejects, off-spec builds, trimmings and start-up or shut-down material. Because it has never been cured, green tire scrap is a clean, high-value rubber stream that can be reprocessed — which is exactly why we buy it.
